Kota the Friend Releases New LP To Kill a Sunrise

Brooklyn native Kota the Friend has been making his ascension in Hip-Hop for years. He possesses a cool and developed flow painting lyrical tales of reality. Kota the Friend is a mastermind, more than worthy of a place in the game. Without the support of a major label, this artist has truly defined independent success in the music industry.

Following the release of “Lyrics to GO Vol 2,” Kota teamed up with production icon Statik Selektah for a solidifying LP “To Kill a Sunrise”.  The two complimented each others styles seamlessly. Curating 10 tracks true to the original sounds of Hip-Hop. Smooth jazzy arrangements laid the perfect base for Kota’s raw and purposeful lyricism.

Containing only one feature from singer and sound healer Haile Supreme, the artist brought melodious mood enhancing vocals to the percussion filled track “Go Now.” The project has reached over half a million streams within one day of release. The time has come where life-driven and relatable experiences are craved to be heard in music. Kota the Friend will give you just that… a reason to hit play and never skip a track.
